The film, structured in three acts, narrates the journey of Hassan al-Kontar. From his time as a refugee in the UAE and being stranded at Kuala Lumpur airport for seven months to finding help from strangers and ultimately building a new life in Canada, where he begins to dedicate himself to humanitarian work. Hassan's story is a profound testament to resilience and the transformative power of human kindness, while also illuminating the struggles of refugees seeking a place to call home. Following several in-depth conversations with Hassan, we have secured his full participation in the project. He has given his approval to adapt his book, “Man at the Airport: How Social Media Saved My Life” (publisher‏: ‎ Tidewater Press), as the basis for this documentary, ensuring a deeply personal and authentic perspective throughout the film.
